Now a mother of two children, I have launched my food business, specializing in artisan marshmallows and confections. I am passionate about quality food and the environment. I want to sell a product that I would feed my children. The ingredients are simple, often local, organic and fair trade as well.
I have over 15 years of experience in the food and hospitality industry, worked as a professional actor, and am now a full-time Manager of Human Resources. But I am happiest in the kitchen. I often joke that my office hours are 10 pm to 2 am- thus is the life of a mompreneur!
I live with my husband and daughters in Telkwa, BC- a village outside of the small town of Smithers. We moved to the beautiful Bulkley Valley to enjoy life, local food, and live our dream. I love making marshmallows. Every single one. It brings me so much joy to create something unique, tasty, and delightful.
I am committed to sourcing sustainable ingredients and local whenever possible. My whole wheat flour comes from a local farm that stone mills it- please visit WoodGrain Mill to learn more about this amazing farm. I also purchase organic, Fair Trade vanilla beans and cocoa from a small Canadian importer and use local fruit and other ingredients sourced in BC. I use sustainable packaging including compostable and recyclable bags and boxes.
I hope that you enjoy your treats from my kitchen and please send feedback to kimberleyskitchen@live.ca. I would love to hear from you.
Cheers,
Kimberley
